Paula Southwell Memorial this Saturday at Stateline!

June 1, 2016

Busti, NY (June 1, 2016): Paula Southwell was the daughter of Sugar Grove Beverage Outlaw E-Mod standout Butch Southwell. On May 4, 2013 Paula tragically lost her life in a motorcycle accident on the night of her Father’s most recent win at Stateline. Since May 18, 2013 Paula has been remembered with a Memorial race for the E-Mods. The first Memorial was won by Waterford, PA’s Dave Hess Jr with the 2014 and 2015 events win by Rich Michael Jr each year. This year's event will pay $2000 to the winner plus lap leader bonuses worth $25 for each of the thirty laps. After two weeks of racing David Scott holds a commanding 42-point lead in the season standings over Butch Southwell and Troy Carr. Ron Seeley and Greg Johnson, who had a rough end to his feature last Saturday, barrel rolling coming out of turn four, round out the top five. Michael Jr is expected to be in attendance to attempt to repeat win his third in a row. Scott has both feature wins this season. Southwell Oil is sponsoring the event. The Southwell Family will present the first 200 children through the gate a free book. Paula was passionate about reading.

Max Blair leads Scott in the Overhead Door of Jamestown Super Late Model standings by the slimmest of margins, one point! Both Blair and Scott have a feature win. Trailing in third, another 64-markers behind Scott, is John Lobb. Chad Valone and Rich Gardner are fourth and fifth.

Wyatt Scott has dominated the Shults Auto Group RUSH Crate Late Model Victory Lane thus far this season, winning both features run to date. As a result he enjoys a 32-point cushion in the season standings over his cousin Ryan Scott who, in turn, is ten markers ahead of third running Andy Boozel. Scott Gurdak and Chad Schauers fill out the top five.

Kelly Frederes leads the Rusted Nutz Pro Mods points despite being shut out of the Winner’s Circle this season over Jason Covey, feature winner last week. Scott Gurdak is third another 41-points back over Jeremy Williams and Dennis Asel. Opening night winner Justin Carlson is sixth.

Dave Shagla, last week’s winner, leads the Fox’s Pizza Den Street Stocks by one point over Gary Fisher, opening night’s winner. Just two more points back in third is Bill Reeves. 2015 points runner-up Anthony Marotto is a distant fourth with Wayne Mohawk fifth.

Defending Himes Auction Super Sportsmen points champion Dan Nocero Jr has been undefeated in both heat and feature races this summer, leading Ted Kosinski by 36 markers. Mike Kosinski is third, 18-points behind his brother. Steve Longo and Jim Kibbe round out the top five.
