June 15, 2016

Pennsylvania Vintage Modifieds return!

Busti, NY (June 15, 2016): This coming weekend is Father’s Day and Stateline will have special pricing for all Fathers attending, only $5.00 general admission! The Pennsylvania Vintage Modifieds, postponed from last week due to threatening weather, will also be on the card with 10-12 of the 60s, 70s, and 80s era expected to be in attendance with heats and a feature. Regular racing will be the rest of the agenda with all classes racing regular-length events of heats and features. As the season nears the halfway mark points battles are heating up in all divisions as teams look for the quick way around the new racing surface In preparation for the huge 60th anniversary blow-out scheduled for July 21 that will pay $10,060 to the winner of the 60 lap Overhead Door of Jamestown extravaganza. Also on the calendar for June 25th is the return of the Patriot Sprint Series to Stateline next week sponsored by Woodburn Construction. The winged, alcohol-burning, sprinters always put on an exciting feature. The entire evening will be sponsored by Greenstar Enterprises and Cargo Auto Parts.

John Lobb has not won a feature event this season but consistent “up-front” finishes have propelled him to the lead in the Overhead Door of Jamestown Super Late Model points chase. Lobb currently holds a 46-point edge over two-time champion David Scott with two-time feature winner Max Blair third, just five points back of Scott. Single-time 2016 winner, also a two time champion, Dutch Davies is fourth with former champion Chad Valone fifth. Will Lobb be able to continue at the top of the heap?

The Shults Auto Group RUSH Crate Late Models are being paced by Andy Boozel with a slim three-point lead over Ryan Scott. Neither driver has gone to Victory Lane, yet. Wyatt Scott, winner the first two weeks of the season, is currently third, 26-points behind his cousin, Ryan. Defending champion and last week’s winner Jason Genco is currently fourth with Chad Schauers fifth. Who will be the leader after this week? At this point it's anybody's bet. Matt Latta collected the win last week, his first ever at Stateline, in his first appearance this season.

David Scott, with three wins, leads the Sugar Grove Beverage Outlaw E-Mods points by a huge 125-point margin over Butch Southwell. Defending champion Greg Johnson is third with Troy Carr fourth and Ron Seeley fifth. Winner of the Paula Southwell Memorial, Rich Michael Jr, is back in fourteenth position. Can anyone narrow Scott’s lead?

Kelly Frederes leads the Rusted Nutz ProMods chase with one win. Jason Covey, the 2015 Street Stock champion, runs second, also with a win, and is 27 points back of the leader. Scott Gurdak, last week’s winner, is third, only four points behind Covey with Dennis Asel fourth and Jeremy Williams fifth. Opening night winner Justin Carlson is mired back in eighth. The first year class has had some exciting racing with nobody showing dominance yet.

Bill Reeves, winner last week, leads the Fox’s Pizza Den Street Stock standings by a very slim two-point margin over two time winner Dave Shagla Jr. Gary Fisher, winner on opening night, is third with Bill Best and Tony Marotto filling out the top five. This class is the tightest points race at this point in the season. Who will emerge victorious?

Defending Himes Auction Super Sportsmen champion Dan Nocero Jr is continuing his championship form with two wins this season. He currently holds a 28-point lead over Jim Kibbe, also a two time winner. Steve Longo is third with Ted Kosinski fourth and Tommy Kosinski fifth.

Andy Proper is undefeated in the Bailey's Towing & Recovery Super Challengers and has the points lead after only four weeks into the season by 294 points over runner-up Kevin Covell! While still way too early to call him a repeat champion, it's going to be tough to deny the Proper another crown. Travis Darling, Ben Sudol, and Pete Volpe are third through fifth. Any one of them could begin to challenge Proper in the right circumstance. Will Proper pull away to a easy win or will he be challenged.
