Stateline Speedway Ribbon Cutting this Saturday!

July 27, 2016

Pro Mods take center stage.

Busti, NY (July 27, 2016): The New Stateline Speedway Presented by LiteHouse Auto will formally be welcomed to the Busti, NY community Saturday evening with a special “ribbon-cutting” ceremony featuring the Chautauqua County Executive Vince Horrigan, State Assemblyman Andy Goodell, Town of Busti officials, and police and fire officials. Many tracks have an adversarial relationship with local communities but Stateline fits in well with the local governments, who recognize the positive economic impact the track has on he the surrounding communities.

In on-track action the Rusted Nutz ProMods will have their season special, a 25-lap feature for the track’s newest class of racers. Kelly Frederes leads the season long points chase to become the class inaugural champion by 43 markers over Scott Gurdak. Frederes has two wins, including last Saturday. Gurdak collected a win on June 11. Jason Covey, a three-time winner, is third, 65 points from first. Justin Carlson, a four-time winner is fourth in this very competitive division. With the extra laps and extra cash on the line, the racing Saturday ought to go to the very last lap.

Two-time former Overhead Door of Jamestown Super Late Model champion Dutch Davies picked up a win on June 4th and leads the charge to become a three-time champion. However, John Lobb, a winner July 9th, is only six points back in second with two-time winner, including last Saturday, and former champion Rich Gardner another 66-points back. Other feature winners this season include fourth place David Scott with two wins, Doug Eck, Max Blair, and Dave Hess Jr, all with a single win. Max Blair prevailed in the non-points 60th anniversary special on July 21st.

Ryan Scott has parlayed consistent “up-front” finishes to a 91-point advantage in the Shults Auto Group RUSH Crate Late Model Championship chase over two-time winner Darrell Bossard. Damian Bidwell, a former two-time class champion and three times a winner this season, is third, only six points behind Bossard. Young Wyatt Scott has two wins this season. Dave Lyon, Jason Genco, and Matt Latta have all registered single wins.

Despite not scoring a feature win yet this season, Butch Southwell leads the Sugar Grove Beverage E-Mod Championship standings by a whopping 96-points over Troy Carr, the winner on June 25th. David Scott has been dominating feature action with five wins, half the total run, but poor finishes in several events have relegated him to third in the standings, another eight behind Carr. The veteran Troy Johnson scored his first E-Mod triumph last Saturday night but is mired back in eighth in the standings. Rich Michael, Vic Vena, and Matt Lux also have feature wins.

Dave Shagla Jr has dominated the Fox’s Pizza Street Stock Victory Lane, going there six times this season and building a huge points advantage of 146-points over Bill Reeves, a two-time winner. Opening night winner Gary Fisher is third, another 231 points out of second! Mark Ramsey has a single win.

Former champion Jim Kibbe has scored four Himes Auction Company Super Sportsmen feature wins and holds a 33-point lead over defending champion Dan Nocero Jr, also a four-time winner. Steve Longo, winless thus far, is third, another 223 points back. Michael and Ted Kosinski have the other two feature wins this summer.

In seven of the entire Bailey’s Towing & Recovery Super Challenger features Andy Proper has prevailed and gone to Victory Lane. As a result, he enjoys the biggest lead of any driver this summer, 463 points over his nearest competitor, Ben Sudol, who is without a win. Skip Jackson, with one feature win, is third. The other winners are Pete Volpe and Kurt Babcock.
