HESS JR. BAGS UMP MODIFIED SPECIAL FOR HIS 100TH CAREER STATELINE WIN AS OAKES, PARKER, HARVEY, BLACK AND BITTINGER ALSO FIND VICTORY LANE!

June 16, 2024  |  by Marc Hoegerl

Busti, NY (June 15, 2024) by Marc Hoegerl: The New Stateline Speedway was once again blessed by beautiful Western New York late spring weather, as well as consecutive weeks of action-packed racing in all six hosted divisions.

Previous week’s winner Bud Watson would lead the first 12 laps of the 30 lap $2,300 to win UMP Modified Special, until “The Wizard” Dave Hess Jr. would find the ample room needed to take the lead from Watson on lap 13 to go on to cruise to his 58th career Stateline UMP Modified feature win, as well as his 100th career overall feature triumph at The New Stateline Speedway.  Following the Waterford, PA standout across the line would be Kingsville, OH’s Bud Watson, Dennis Lunger, Rich Michael Jr., and Wyatt Scott.

Opening night winner Greg Oakes would motor his way to his second Stateline Speedway Super Late Model feature win of the season. Oakes would take advantage of his outside pole starting position, leading wire to wire in the 25 lap event. 5th place starter Darrell Bossard would bring home the bridesmaid spot, Kyle Bedell would nail down his first podium finish of the season, finishing 3rd, as Ryan Scott, and 2023 feature winner Bob Dorman would round out the top 5.

Spring Creek, PA’s Jason Black would hold off a fierce late race challenge from opening night winner Tanner Ramsey to pick up his first Stateline Pro Stock feature win of 24.” Black would keep his composure throughout running the bottom of the race track, as Ramsey would use the extreme high side tracking Black down throughout the 15 lap event. Ramsey would have to settle for 2nd, as senior flagman Spanky Hall would waft the checkered flags. John Cline, Matt Sampson, and Chris Withers would complete the top 5.

David Parker was so close in last week’s action to picking up his first Stateline Speedway RUSH Crate Late Model feature win of the season, but would come up short late in the race. The Sinclairville, NY native would show he was not to be denied on this night, holding off the regional hot shoe Dave Hess Jr., to seal the deal for his first RUSH Crate Late Model win of the season at the Chautauqua County based speed plant. This would also be Parker’s 4th career feature win at Stateline in the RUSH Crate Late Model class. Hess Jr. would secure 2nd, Jake Wilber in his GRT mount would have another impressive run finishing 3rd, previous week’s winner and 12th place starter Jason Genco was 4th, as multi-class champ Scott Gurdak rounded out the top 5.

Zain Harvey has shown he’s the man to beat in the RUSH Pro Mods in 2024. Harvey would outclass the field leading all 20 laps to pick up his second Stateline Speedway RUSH Pro Mod feature victory of the season. Following the Bradford, PA wheelman across the stripe would be hall of famer Al Brewer, last week’s winner Josh Wilcox, Vaughn Nystrom, and Nick Arnold.

Dan Bittinger would grab the lead on lap 6 in the event that had three lead changes amongst three different drivers to go on to pick up his first Stateline Challenger feature win of 2024. Casey Burch would come home 2nd, 2023 points champ John Mease was 3rd, Domingo Echevarria after an early race set back was 4th, and heat race winner Holden Heineman was 5th
