HESS JR. DOES IT AGAIN BY DOMINATING STATELINE’S BATTLE AT THE BORDER 40!

Busti, NY (Aug. 20, 2024) by Marc Hoegerl: The New Stateline Speedway with its biggest crowd of the season would take in a night of action as the famed Super Late Models would take center stage with the ‘Battle at the Border 40’ Super Late Model Special.

Dave Hess Jr. would take off from his outside pole position, and never look back leading all the way in the 40 lap $10,000 to win Super Late Model Special. Hess would best a field of 34 of the region’s best to claim his 3rd Stateline Super Late Model win of the season. Mike Knight after a valiant effort would end up 2nd, Centerville, PA’s Darrell Bossard was 3rd, outsider Jon Lee was 4th and Brandon DeBrakeleer would round out the top 5.

Conneaut OH’s Joel Watson would hold off a fierce challenge from veteran Dennis Lunger to claim the 20 lap UMP Modified A-Main. This would be Watson’s 1st Stateline UMP Modified feature win of 2024, as well as his 10th career feature win in the class at Stateline. Lunger would settle for the bridesmaid spot, Kyle Schreckengost in his best run of the season was 3rd, David Scott was 4th as third generation racer Wyatt Scott would round out your top 5.
