Busti, NY (Aug. 24, 2024) by Marc Hoegerl: The New Stateline Speedway’s 2024 racing campaign would come to a close with the crowning of the 2024 points titlists, as well as Stateline’s annual autograph session to put the final touches on another successful season for the Western, New York based racing facility.
Franklinville, NY’s Greg Oakes would close out the 2024 Super Late Model action at Stateline by nipping Jason Genco by a mere .003 at the line to nab his 3rd feature win of the season, to go along with his 2024 points championship. This would be Oake’s 3rd Super Late Model point’s title of his career at the 1/3 mile semi-banked clay oval. Genco after a valiant last lap effort would settle for 2nd, two time winner at Stateline in 24’ Darrell Bossard was 3rd, as Doug and Douglas Eck would round out the top 5.
Stateline’s 2024 RUSH Crate Late Model points champ Jason Genco would muscle the lead from race leader Randy Hall on lap 14 of the 20 lap main event, to go on to pick up his 4th Stateline RUSH Crate Late Model feature triumph of the season. Genco would end the season just three wins shy of tying the classes all time feature winner Max Blair for most feature wins. Hall would secure 2nd, Titusville, PA’s Josh Ferry was 3rd, veteran Scott Gurdak 4th, and David Parker would complete the top 5.
Third generation wheeler Wyatt Scott would grab the lead from Waterford, PA’s Eric Reinwald on lap 3, going the remaining distance unscathed to pick up his first ever Stateline UMP Modified feature victory. Reinwald would hold on to 2nd for his best Stateline finish to date, CJ Ramsey with an impressive outing was 3rd, 2024 point titlist Troy Johnson would bring home 4th, and Kyle Schreckengost who has really turned some heads in the later part of the season would complete the top 5..
“Show Stopper” Zain Harvey would once again show his late race heroics by wheeling around race leader Josh Wilcox with 7 laps remaining, picking up Stateline feature win #6 of 2024 in the RUSH Pro Mod’s to go along with his 2024 points title. This would be Harvey’s 8th career feature accolade, putting him 3rd on the divisions all time winners list behind Dennis Lunger and Justin Carlson. Wilcox would once again end up 2nd, Tim Peterson in an impressive run was 3rd, “Mr. Consistency” Vaughn Nystrom was 4th, as Nick Arnold would round out the top 5.
Spring Creek, PA’s Jason Black is one tough customer once he gets out front. Black would jump out to the lead at the outset and never look back, dominating all 15 laps of Stateline’s Pro Stock a-main. With Black ousting the field, former champion Chris Withers was 2nd, Dustin Gibson with his best Stateline run of the season was 3rd, 2024 points champion John Boardman was 4th, and the #07 of John Cline was 5th.
Local favorite John Mease would inherite the lead after early race leader Shane Olmstead would be involved in a lap 4 collision to go on to win his 3rd Stateline Challenger feature of 2024 to go along with his championship crown. This would be back-to-back point’s titles for the Jamestown, NY native. Following Mease across the line would be the sleek #52 of Domingo Echevarria, veteran Holden Heineman, two time winner in 24’ Pete Volpe, and Corry, PA’s Brandon Huffman.
It was like Bradford, PA’s Terry Mealy was shot out of a canon, comfortably leading all 12 laps of Stateline’s Sharp Mini Late Model feature, recording his first Stateline win of the season. Always a contender Chris Whyte was 2nd, Ryan Card with another podium finish, was 3rd, Jesse Isadore 4th, and 2024 points champion Rob Eaton after struggling earlier in the evening, rebounded for 5th.
