Outlaw E-Mods race for extra purse in final points night at Stateline!

September 1, 2016

Busti, NY (September 1, 2016): Saturday night all points championships will be decided at Stateline Speedway Presented by LiteHouse Auto with the Sugar Grove Beverage Outlaw E-Mods racing for a $1000 to win special extra lap feature as well. Sugar Grove Beverage has been the title sponsor for the Outlaw E-Mods all season and will really go all-out for the fans on this final night, giving away tee-shirts, coolers, and other items based on admission tickets throughout the night.

Butch Southwell has not yet visited Victory Lane in 2016 but has been near the front of the finishing order enough to hold a 52-point lead over David Scott, who has dominated Victory Lane this summer with seven feature wins! If Scott has a combination of finishing five five positions ahead of Southwell in the feature and three ahead of him in his heat, he will wrest the lead from Southwell by one marketing the event of a point tie Scott would be the champion based on feature wins. Troy Carr, a one-time winner, is third, 150-points from the lead. Given that 210 points are available, any of the top three could emerge the champion.

The premier class throughout Stateline Speedway’s 60-year history has been the Overhead Door of Jamestown Super Late Models. This season Dutch Davies, a feature winner on June 4, leads John Lobb, a winner July 9, by 79 markers heading into the final points-paying event of 2016. Davies, the 2011-2012 champion would be the fifth driver to win three championships, joining Squirt Johns, Bobby Schnars, Dick Barton, and Dan Armbruster. We're Lobb to get by Davies in the final night, he would be a two-time champion, having won in 2005. David Scott is third in the rundown. Scott, a single winner this season, is 81 points in arrears of second. Scott is a two time champion, including 1995, his rookie Super Late Model season.

The Shults Auto Group RUSH Crate Late Model championship will also go to the final week with Ryan Scott winless this season, leading four-time winner Darrell Bossard by only 38 points. Dave Lyon, a single winner this year, is third, another 44 markers back.

The closest points race is the Rusted Nutz ProMods, the newest division at Stateline. Kelly Frederes, a two-time winner, leads the way with a razor-thin margin of only three points over Scott Gurdak, a single winner. Justin Carlson has six feature wins and is only 68-points from the lead, well within range. Jason Covey, three times a winner, is fourth, only 106-points out of the lead! Any of the top four drivers could go into the record books as the first-ever Rusted Nutz ProMod champion. It could easily be decided in the final stretch run to Spanky Halls checkers this Saturday night!

The Fox’s Pizza Den Street Stocks Victory Lane has been dominated by Dave Shagla Jr, winning seven out of the twelve points-paying feature events. Bill Reeves, with two wins, is second, 176-points behind. Shagla’s lead is not insurmountable but it would take a winning performance by Reeves and an exceptionally dismal run by Shagla to vault Reeves to the championship. Opening night winner Gary Fisher is third, 499-points out of the lead.

Jim Kibbe holds a narrow 19 point lead in the Himes Auction Super Sportsmen points race over defending champion Dan Nocero Jr. Michael Kosinski is third, another 336-points out of the lead and eliminated from title hopes.  Kibbe has six feature wins while Nocero has five wins but Kosinski has not yet made to to Victory Lane this summer. Steve Longo and Ted Kosinski fill out the top five.

Andy Proper has dominated the Bailey’s Towing & Recovery Super Challengers, winning eight features and building an insurmountable lead of 719 points in the standings over second running Pete Volpe, a two-time winner. Ben Sudol, as yet winless this season, is third. With his dominating performance, Proper has cemented his second consecutive championship title at Stateline
